Their clan chowder is okay, but it's not the best I've had. There's a little restaurant on the boardwalk in Coos Bay that has the best clam chowder.
No, they don't deliver.
There is a sidewalk out front but it's on the opposite side of where the fireworks are.
The clam chowder there is really good!
The foods good, but the service was super slow, it was over an hour before my meal got to me
Taking a trip along the Oregon coast and this was the best food of our trip! Try their Dungeness crab cakes and clam chowder. Both were top notch!!!
Service was slow. Restaurant had a sharp odor of grease.
We were seated right away at lunch on a Friday. Ordered fish tacos and fish and chips. Both were cooked perfectly, very tasty. Very friendly staff, fun atmosphere, food arrived quickly, drinks were awesome. Carpeting needs to be replaced, but don't let that deter you from eating here, we will be back!
Creative seafood. Casual atmosphere. I had the local shrimp in what I would call a seafood Cobb salad. Amazing. Loved it.
I had some tasty fresh flavorful flaky halibut tacos. They have a good beer selection and offer fair prices for the quality. Nice casual family atmosphere with a play area for the kids.
Amazing food and great service! Seafood platter had a great assortment and was really tasty! I had the strawberry shark drink and it tasted really good! Hoping to stop in again in the future!
i had just about the BEST fish and chips i’ve ever had here. soooooo amazing! usually all i order from here is their clam chowder, which is also AMAZING! but today i decided to treat myself to something new but not too new, and it was a great choice!
Great service and delicious food. My mom and I tried a Duke burger for the first time for curbside pickup and it was awesome. We will be back to try something new. Highly recommend.
Oyster Sandwich, Calamari, Clam Chowder.... ALL EXCELLENT!
Super friendly staff and good food at a good price.
Delicious!!! Had halibut tacos and spouse had halibut basket!!! The Onion rings we're the best I've ever had!! And the drinks and service, excellent!! Great atmosphere, will definitely go back!!
Absolutely marvelous!!! Everything was so so good!
The best claim chowder, crab cakes, and oysters we have ever had. We had to wait a long time, but it was worth it. Full service bar too!
Love the food, the ambience - casual but not "hamburger casual", and especially the lovely waitress we had. She offered top notch service and was more than happy to answer any questions we had. Just wish we remembered to ask her name.
Good service and delicious food. definitely stop by here if your in town. I had the special which was steelhead tacos!
Great chowder, the beer battered fish tacos with slaw were amazing. Will definitely return
We ordered the seafood sampler.....outstanding! Also ordered the onion rings....batter is perfect! the oyster burger was awesome! Fench fries were also crispy.....everything was great. Service was great even in PANDEMIC LAND!
It was just okay for us. We ordered for take out but didn't eat it right away. I am sure it would have been better if eaten while hot! During time of Covid-19 it was good enough. The staff was great, the person who took our order on the phone was friendly and great. They are doing the best they can considering. The burger was well done(but hubby ordered it that way) ugh. The fries had no hope as they are homemade and only fried once. The calamari strips were just that and wasn't something we were expecting or use to eating. There could have been more onion rings for the price you pay but hey they were tasty!
The food was excellent, some of the best clam chowder I've ever had. The server was really great and we even found out he had family from our small Minnesota town! The decor was fun and has a great atmosphere.
Casual, loud, no need for a reservation on a Tuesday evening. I go with the halibut fish and chips, their clam chowder was good too. I'll be back.
Never had a chance to try the food. After nearly 10 minutes of waiting for someone to acknowledge my husband and I, they still hadn’t seated us. There was one family seated, An open 4 top and a 2 top, one family waiting to be seated, and us so it’s not like the place was overly busy. The waitress was in old jeans and an old hoodie with all the enthusiasm of a sloth. We didn’t stay.
SharkBites is my new favorite restaurant in town. Went for lunch and the food was excellent and the price is reasonable. Would like to see them put some new chairs in the dining room. They were all looking pretty beat up. Will definitely be back.
DOG FRIENDLY!! This place has delicious food, friendly servers, lots of attention to customers, allowed our dog to come in, busy but still timely and yummy food. The onion rings and housemade tartar sauce were amazing. We will definitely come back when we are in town.
We are traveling from Seattle to the Redwoods, camping along the coast and needed a place to get some fish and chips before we get into the woods. We were so happy that we found it! I do not think we could have gotten better fish and chips anywhere. The outside coating was perfectly crunchy, the fish tender and cooked perfectly, and not greasy in the slightest. Even the fries and coleslaw were done to perfection. I only wish they were closer to home!
The best shrimp nacho.!!! The pomegranate mimosa was a taste explosion in your mouth. Margarita in a mason jar. Equally as delicious. Incredible service!!! Will be back!!!
Fresh food, good flavor, cool vibe. This was our first time here. I had cod fish and chips- lightly beer battered, thick pieces. The fries were very good, looked dark at first but fresh hot and delicious. The coleslaw was light and not too sweet. My wife had the Baja fish tacos, fried Cod with cabbage, and really enjoyed them. There were many styles of fish tacos, I guess we'll have to come back and try more!
A nice little restaurant. The food was really good and the drinks were refreshing. It's a small restaurant but it has a nice atmosphere to it. The staff was very nice and were very helpful. The prices vary from non-expensive to expensive, at least in my opinion. The seafood platter I believe was about 30 bucks or more. My cup of chowder was below 10 dollars I think. Overall it is a great restaurant and a good place to go if you're craving seafood. 😀
Great yummy tasty food. Friendly staff. Easy.
Mostly fried seafood, it’s okay if that’s what you’re into. Good drinks and delicious beers. They’re doing a nice job in these covid days.
This place was great! Love the ambiance and decorations, though it was just a touch dark so if you have trouble seeing in low light, be aware of that. My boyfriend had the fish and chips and said it was the best fish and chips he’s ever had. It was very clean and the waitress was very attentive. The food took a little long to come out but was well worth the wait!
One of my favorite restaurants in town! Their calamari is fabulous! Cooked perfection. They’re friendly and fast. I don’t think I’ve ever been there when it’s not full of people. My husband loves their fish n chips. Really good food all the way around!
Nice place, great service and clean. I had the lunch special of the day, 3 Spicy Rock Fish Tacos for $15.00. The food was fresh and hot, however the tacos lacked flavor and considering they were $5.00 each I just was not that impressed. The only spicy seasoning was a side dish of salsa. On the other hand, OMG ! Their Clam Chowder was to die for! I have never had Clam Chowder that good in my entire life and I'm old.
Good solid food, fish in a taco is just perfect for lunch. Extensive menu, but most of the fish is deep fried if you are looking to avoid fats. They have vegan and vegetarian offerings but not as extensive as other dining options.
I ordered the seafood platter. It was ok but everything seemed over cooked. Calamari got rubbery pretty badly.
Pub-grub with industrial ambiance. The menu provided to us (Summer 2020) at lunch time afforded an abundance of fried choices with some exceptions, like fish tacos. We were seated in a hall with some construction work-in-progress, sharing restrooms with an adjoining shop to which there was access from that same dining hall. Lighting was dim, as in not providing sufficient illumination vs. engineered for atmosphere. Service was reasonable. The fish tacos were OK. A basket of calamari was accompanied with cole slaw and a heaped mound of french fries that some may find appealing, but I did not -- I suppose I had missed an option for substitution, if available. The fried calamari were heavily breaded, passable, I suppose, but could be better. Expect a check on the sunny side of $15 per person before drinks or tip. Probably OK, but not my cup of tea.
It took a while to be seated. I read the reviews on the place and as we sat down I realized the reviews were right. It was a long wait to order our food, though once the food got there we started chowing down. It was decent, food that I could get back at home, even though we don't have local fish, but we could make it. The food wasn't that spicy, but if you want spice they bring you hot sauce. It was average food, not mind-blowing, or orgasm happening in your mouth, but average.
One of the best meals we've had in awhile! I had the shrimp cocktail and halibut tacos, Hubs has the Grilled Cod tacos and beer flight.
It’s ok, I guess better in the city. Lemonade so great! And Pre posters outside!
Very tasty, but we didn't realize that our entire platter was going to be deep fried. Everything except the coleslaw
Not a very large place so we were excited to just get in a table for 5 on a Tuesday evening. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I had a jalapeno grapefruit Margarita, actually I had two! the fried oysters were incredible and I had the spicy halibut tacos for my dinner entree, they were flavorful, light and fresh. My husband had the rock fish entree and it was very tasty. Kids had chicken tenders, quesadillas, and cheeseburger and there were no complaints. Staff is very friendly however since it was busy they seem to be a little bit backed up.
Lived here in Coos Bay for over 20 years now. My husband called me up and said lets go out tonite, pick a place. So after looking at all the places we've never tried, decided to try this place. We were very happy with this choice. Wish we'd tried it sooner. Prices weren't bad, and portions were great. We will definitely come back!! And we can highly recommend this place!!
Had a weird experience here. The food was decent enough for the price, but the waitress was really just being a little strange. Not sure what the deal was, but she definitely did not make us feel welcome here. Just a “normal” family and we kept getting glares (wish I were joking) and it was just very unusual. Not a good atmosphere to relax and enjoy lunch with your family. After reading other reviews it seems that other parties with multiple families were also told to “eat quickly because they didn’t have room” or were completely ignored for service. They clearly need new staffing here.
The service was great! However, the prices for the amount of food we got was way overpriced. We paid $60, for a meal that would cost $25-30 anywhere else. It was good tasting food though. 🙂
Other than wrong menu prices on tripadvisor, it was a good experience. The food was delicious, my old man had a yummy burger and I got the seafood platter(this was bug enough for me to eat 2 meals)
Very eclectic and cool restaurant. We had the halibut and chips and the prawns and chips. Both dishes well prepared. Some of the best coleslaw I have enjoyed at any restaurant. Two cups of clam chowder to start the meal with, very tasty, thick enough with lots of clams.
Great food every time! Very consistent! Great drinks too!
Fun place to eat!! We had fish tacos and crab cake salad. Very popular with the locals. And great service
Great clam chowder with bread. Shrimp popcorn with fries was good with a coke 👍
Was not a fan of the service. The water tasted like bad tap, wasn't a fan of the food either. The drinks though were amazing, feel like thats the only thing thats going for you guys rn.. just saying
